FURTHER INFORMATION

Childcare vouchers

Potentially a family may apply for childcare vouchers if they are offered them through their employment. Parent(s) may save over £1000 a year in relation to the cost of employing the nanny. Your nanny must be Ofsted registered to apply. On application, you will receive a registration form for your nanny. He/she must fill it out and return it to the voucher provider. The voucher amount is deducted from the nanny’s net pay. The vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with tax-free childcare. Vouchers do not have an expiry date.

Please also note, parent(s) cannot use their 30 hours free childcare on a nanny.

TFC (Tax free childcare)

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Formally known as a CRB

Here at HCA we insist that each candidate has an enhanced DBS certificate (PVG is the Scottish equivalent).

This vital document safeguards vulnerable groups including children. This certifies that unsuitable people are prevented from working with children.

The government offer an update service for childcare providers to register with and keep their certificates up to date. A new enhanced DBS check is currently £40.00.

For more information please go to www.gov.uk

We facilitate enhanced DBS certificate processing through an umbrella company. The cost is £52.00 payable directly to the company we collaborate with, with no additional charges from us.

Your nanny will need to be registered with Ofsted, and either parent must earn less than 10k per annum. They must not be in receipt of other support e.g., tax credit, universal credit, childcare vouchers etc.
